Washington Superbike

Powertrain Member

September 2024 - June 2025

  • Owned the mechanical design of an 80-cell spot-welded battery module in SolidWorks, including structural plates, busbars, standoffs, and fastening strategy.
  • Used CAM, CNC routing, and lathe work to manufacture parts; built a quarter-scale prototype to check assembly geometry, welding access, and electrical continuity.

Bear Metal Robotics, FRC Team 2046

Design Sub-team Lead

June 2023 - June 2024

  • Directed CAD and prototyping work for a five-member design team and created a designer training program for new members.
  • Owned the 2024 deployable collector and gearbox system, including geometry, drive sizing, packaging, integration, and competition iteration.
  • Used alpha and beta prototypes to test roller placement and stow packaging; competition use identified a need for impact compliance.

Bear Metal Robotics, FRC Team 2046

Mechanical Designer

September 2021 - June 2023

  • Designed shoulder and elbow gearbox packaging, the arm superstructure, and the shoulder pivot interface for the 2023 scoring arm.
  • Designed and prototyped a three-roller collector for cones and cubes, revising roller placement after physical tests.
  • Developed pneumatic cylinder mounting geometry, support plates, and a clamp interface for the 2022 climber.
